Conferences • Parent-Teacher conferences requests issued midway through 1st quarter for students • Both day and evening sessions available • Meet with several teachers at the same time • Team conferences available on an as-needed basis • Scheduled during daily team meeting period (3:15-3:45.) • Contact any teacher to request a team conference

  10. course Information • ENGLISH • Class focused on developing writing fluency and increasing writing skills • journaling • frequent essays • daily responses in class • Advanced grammar study (clauses, phrases, sentence structure) • Class works on improving reading comprehension and analysis • reading novels, short stories, poems, essays, non-fiction writing • working on response to literature, especially group discussions • working with increasingly sophisticated literary devices and topics (allegory, irony, allusion, figurative language, theme, etc.)
