  3. These landforms can be found on Earth's outer layer called the crust. Where Can We Find these Landforms?

  4. Volcanoes are openings in Earth's crust from which lava flows. The lava builds up the volcanic rock. What are Volcanoes?

  5. Mountains are features that are much higher than the land around them. What are Mountains?

  7. Islands are small pieces of land that are completely surrounded by water. What are Islands?

  8. Valleys are lowland areas between two higher areas such as mountains. Sometimes, valleys are made by rivers. What are Valleys?

  9. Canyons are valleys with very steep sides. These are formed by rivers flowing through them. What are Canyons?
