Enhancing Student Interest and Achievement in Science Through Self-Regulated Learning Strategies

This project aims to develop and assess a set of self-regulated learning (SRL) strategies designed to boost student interest and achievement in science, particularly in high school chemistry. It focuses on the implementation of Confidence Questioning (CQ) and Confidence Weighting (CW) strategies to enhance students' understanding and engagement. By monitoring their own learning and evaluating performance, students can make informed decisions to improve their outcomes. The pilot study is projected to begin in August 2014 and will explore the feasibility of these interventions in real classroom settings.
