  2. Zed Earth specifications WALLS Homes are built with walls made of specially engineered hollow masonry blocks and designer blocks. They are energy-efficient, and are part of microclimate architecture. These blocks ensure that heat gain inside the home is reduced by 3-4 deg C. We have used u-block lintel instead of concrete lintel with shuttering. Mortar usage is less in hollow blocks and hence, they are 50% lighter than normal solid blocks. As A result, the pace of construction is much faster. STONE COLUMNS Stone columns are placed at the entrance, verandah, and car parking. These are single-line dressed natural stones with less embodied energy.

  3. Zed Earth specifications EXTERNAL FINISHES ROOF Green roof for the sloping rooftop to keep the slab at shaded temperature. Water-efficient, horizontally spread plants are grown with drip irrigation. EXTERNAL WALLS Cement plaster for the walls. Earthy-texture and lighter ivory paint, which are water-proof and water-repellent, lend a beautiful look to the walls. SPLIT BLOCKS Split blocks are used in the corners and first fourcourses of the villa.

  4. Zed Earth specifications INTERNAL FINISHES PLASTER Gypsum plaster is provided for all the internal walls which reduces carbonemission. PAINTS Spot- or comb-textured paint finishes are used for one wall in every room. The remaining walls come with ivory smooth finish which is non-toxic, low-VOC paint. INTERNAL CLADDING Designer stone cladding for one wall is another notable internal feature.
