Selection Criteria • A Generic Selection Policy was agreed to and ratified by SASCOC Members on 19 August 2012 • All Individual athletes and teams eligible for the Commonwealth Games were to be ranked in the top 5 in the Commonwealth to be eligible for selection • Continental qualification was considered for talented Youth/Junior Athletes, and was sport specific • The cut off date for qualification was 31 May 2014 for most sports however some had requested later or earlier cut off based on their international calendars

  8. Pre- departure Holding Camp • Team SA assembled from 14 -16 July 2014 in preparation for departure for the Games. • The team was addressed by the Deputy President of the Republic, Hon Cyril Ramaphosa on 15 July 2014 • Team Send off dinner was also held on 15 July 2014

  9. Logistics and Operations • SASCOC was responsible for all logistics and operations for the team, incl. • Local flights • International flights • Accommodation, meals and ground transport at holding camp • Medical screening • Per diems • Apparel (Generic, Competition, and Formal)
