Grid Modernization 11/14 Kick-Off Workshop

The recent Grid Modernization Kick-Off Workshop highlighted significant opportunities and concerns regarding electric grid advancements. Among the twelve groups, the top three opportunities identified were enhanced reliability, increased potential for distributed generation and new technologies, and the need for improved regulatory frameworks to support modernization planning and investments. Conversely, major concerns included the costs associated with modernization technologies, the overall cost-effectiveness of these initiatives, and issues surrounding utility incentives and cost recovery for grid modernization investments.
