Objectives • Make BIPV more visible and understandable to wide public • To enhance the interaction between PV industry and building industry. • Introduce and develop innovative concepts and effective systems for integration of PV into the buildings. • Create new initiatives/consortia interested in industrialising new ideas and create perspectives for market development in the construction sector • To start an initiative for a European approach of preparing BIPV building standards for the successful implementation of BIPV throughout Europe • To enable EPIA members to have a common language with which to engage the architechtural and building community.

  3. Current status • The objectives will be achived by: • Task 1: Workshop for architects and planners in order to enlarge the acceptation of BIPV • Task 2: Workshop: Potential for new product development

  4. The workshops will focus on: • innovation in building industry ( but with input from the industry) • building product manufacturing processes • logistics • possible fits between building products and PV, including required technological developments • possibilities for joint developments • cost reduction potential on materials, manufacturing and installation

  5. Deliverables • First results will be presented during the 19th EU PV Conference with an EPIA educational CD Rom (BIPV guide/Training package for architects and developers
