  1. Evaluation and estimation of power quality in electric power transmission L. Soto The growing importance of power quality in the transmission network demands a vigilance of all the Spanish transmission grid, either by actual measurement equipment or by estimation of measurements. PREVIOUS STUDIES Project sponsoredby In distribution grids power quality is required by agreements between companies and customers, and equipments are part of these agreements. When the transmission network is addressed, it is necessary to supervise all the buses of the whole transmission grid. There are two options for that: to install recorders in all nodes of the Spanish grid or to install recorders in some chosen nodes and to estimate the others. LOGO empresa financiadora EVALUATING THE RECORDED DATA REE’s recorders are placed in various nodes of the grid. This information is brought to REE’s computers. A program is being made to deal with this information and to create automatic power quality reports for differents periods of time. ESTIMATION Once the PQ data is obtained in the equiped buses, the results should be extended to the unequiped ones. In this way, the unknowns parameters of PQ in the rest of the nodes will be inferred based in the actual measurements, description of the whole network and estimation of the unknowon values. With information about all nodes, new localization for new equipment can also be suggested. CONCLUSIONS Gathering power quality data is a required step to perform a deep analysis of national-scale power quality. Once this is done, it will be possible to develop a model that will help preventing disturbances in the system and will be able to generate periodical reports in each grid node, even nodes without PQ equipment.
