Where on earth is Russia? • Russia is in Asia • Russia is in the northern hemisphere • Russia is in the eastern hemisphere • Desert in the south part of Russia • Russia is the biggest country in the world • Active volcanoes in the east part of Russia • Russia is bordered by China, Japan, Finland , Ukraine , and Mongolia

  3. What is Russia climate? • In January it is 10 degrees F • Summer is 109 degrees F • It is very cold in the winters • In the summer there is a warm river

  4. National Monuments in Russia? • St . Basle's Cathedral • Statue of Lenin • Moscow city capital • Yenisey

  5. What are Russia’s Games and Sports? • Russia has a good gymnastics team • Russia has an Olympic volleyball team • Russia has a champion badminton team

  6. Art • People make matriyashki, which are stacking dolls • People make Russian eggs • People make paintings

  7. Food That People Eat In Russia • Eat blennies which are small pancakes • Frankfurters – sausage • Vermicelli – thin spaghetti • Drink milk with cheese on top • Drink coffee and tea • Eat apples, tomatoes, roast beef, baked potatoes and bowls of soup

  8. What Natural Resources, Imports and Exports • Oil • Make iron and steel • Sell gas • Make metal and timber for other countries • Sidewalk sellers • Ship candy to other countries • Send space rockets • Ship chemicals • Get water from Lake Baykal to sell to other countries

Holidays and Festivals • Easter – people go to church with a special cheesecake called pasha and kulich which is sweet bread • Russian Orthodox Christmas on January 7th • New Years – January 1st, the biggest non- religious holiday – friends and family gather on New Years Eve and Grandfather Frost brings presents for children • Most holidays they wear colorful clothing and enjoy music and dancing
