Introduction • 2005: Medical Doctor graduated, Faculty of Medicine. • 2007: Family Medicine graduated, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies. • Work at Faculty of Postgraduate Studies as a coordinator and monitor for Pediatric Residency Program and Family Medicine Program. UHS • Work at Mahosot Hospital in a General Pediatric ward.

Introduction(cont’) • University of Health Sciences deriver both undergraduate and postgraduate health care provider. • Affiliated central hospitals include: Mahosot, Sethathilath, Mittaphap, Mother and Newborn, Children’s hospital. • 5 teaching provincial hospital include: Luangprabang, Vientiane province, Khammouane, Savannakhet and Champasak

  5. Goal of Training • To improve a progressive education and appropriate skill in caring of children with general common problem…. • To provide initial & long term management of common, acute and chronic pediatric illness.

  6. Specific Objectives • To improve the knowledge & skill on: how to approach diagnose based on the main clinical manifestation, necessary lab test requirement, initial treatment, assessment and follow up plan of common pediatric diseases based on problem solving discussion in case of limited available facilities. • To recognize more common principle of pediatric health problem definition and management by using the international, national guideline or protocol….

Specific Objectives (cont’) • To share experiences and lesson learnt how to develop plan and optimize patient care. • To involve the educational regular activities weekly in each department such as: ward rounding, journal club, radiology meeting… • To attend others conferences with broad spectrum of health care professionals to provide effective and complex care. • To perform any appropriate procedures with model or simulators …

Expected Learning Outcome • Be able to understand essential and accurate information proving diagnostic studies, manage patient and develop assessment. • Be able to identify the effective and appropriate clinical problem-solving skill based on available facilities or medical equipment. • Be able to demonstrate competence & appropriate procedures with the model or simulators… • Be able to build capacity and strengthen by applying all the gained experiences in the field of pediatric patient care and also distribute by clinical teaching pattern in central and provincial level.
