WA Army and Air Guard Deployments Domestic Support Missions • More than 800 Soldiers and Airmen participated in Gulf Coast Hurricane Relief and Recovery Operations: • ANG KC135 Tankers flew multiple airlifts • ANG established communications sites and provided 24 hour aviation weather support • ARNG Helicopters, Pilots and crews, supported Search and Rescue operations • ARNG provided over 600 soldiers as security and support forces

Effects of Transformation on the Washington Army National Guard • Projected Total WA ARNG assigned strength remains 6,000 • Remain Stationed throughout WA as a Community-based Force • Most significant: the partial reorganization of the 81st HBCT to a Modular Table of Organization • Addition of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) • Increased “digitalization” in voice/video/satellite communications • The 66th AVN Bde Airframes in WashingtonState: • 8 UH-60, 5 CH-47 • 4 Light Utility and 2 Joint Cargo Aircraft • Fielding new Engineer and Transportation units Enhances Domestic Preparedness • Goal: Equipping the same as Active Duty counterparts

Effects of BRAC on the Washington Air National Guard - Projected assigned strength & stationing remains same - The 141st Air Refueling Wing (ARW), Fairchild AFB Loses assigned aircraft and “associates” with Active Duty Wing - No effects on Combat Communications, Air Support Squadrons, Engineering and Western Air Defense Sector
