  1. Lake Park Service Learning Studies Performed by Josh Tammi, Jordan Ruchti, and Scott Robertson

  2. Ways to enjoy the park… Many park goers not only enjoy the park by themselves……. …..but also with their family and friends!

  3. Whether you’re the laid back type that likes to enjoy a nice 18... ….or the fast athletic type, Lake Park is the place for you.

  4. Animals one would observe while walking through one of the many Milwaukee County Parks

  5. Trees, Forbs, and Shrubberies Oh, my! -Mustard Garlic aka invasive species. Trees of all sorts including Pines, Maples, Birch, and Oaks.

  6. Making the community stronger….. One park at a time. • -The county parks in Milwaukee maintain a relationship between the communities that is a peaceful and strong relationship. Our organization, Milwaukee County Parks, does a great deal of work and effort maintaining the parks for all different types for communities to enjoy them. Since there is no entry fee to the parks and is easily accessible from highways many patrons will be able to enjoy the parks at no cost. They are doing all they can about the differences in communities and income gaps around Milwaukee. There is a wide range of activities that a person can do at these parks which makes them a strong part of the community. The land use at these parks is top-notch, using there parks as soccer fields and club house.

  7. - The journal writings we produced from numerous walks through the park were connected to other places at more than one scale. Not only did we connect to the outside world at a neighborhood and city level but also at a global level. The journals we have prepared could easily convince someone to enjoy the Milwaukee County Parks System in ways they’ve never understood before. By going into depth about the beauty of nature we open up people’s eye to something they have never really seen before. In essence, more people will be likely to participate in pastimes that are something that is first of all free and good for you but less polluting as well as some passions may be. For example, a person who usually goes on long motorcycle rides putting out harmful emissions may now spend their time bird watching or hiking. Acting locally, thinking globally…

  8. Limitations faced by The Milwaukee County Parks System • Funding for: • Employees • Upkeep • New Parks • Making accesses to a park more convenient • Preserving wildlife within the city • New Park Features • Community centers • Recreational activity areas • Public awareness • Invasive species awareness • Environmental awareness • Area for new park development: • Providing close access to a park for everyone • Finding suitable land for park development • Weather: • The weather greatly influences park activity as well as natural processes such as erosion The Milwaukee County Parks System is working to keep the Greater Milwaukee Beautiful by thinking globally, acting locally. They are supporting the Great American Cleanup by encouraging local communities to get involved and cleanup the areas around their neighborhoods
