  1. Our week at STEM By: Maddy and Ethan

  2. SCIENCE • The focus throughout the week was sound. • One day we even made wind chimes. Which had to do with science because we learned how length affects the frequency of each chime. • We used science every day, but chemistry day was our favorite. • We played with dry ice. And watched YouTube videos on dry ice exploding.

  3. Technology • On Thursday we worked with computers. • We used Soundation and Audacity to learn how computers hear sound. • We also synthesized sound to imitate instruments. • When we were making wind chimes , we used a computer to design the wood pieces.

  4. Engineering For a day and a half we used engineering to make our wind chimes. We used a mix of math and technology to create and design the wind chimes to have the perfect frequency

  5. Math We used lots of equations in this camp. Mainly to get the frequencies correct, but we also used one to find the speed of sound.

  6. Summary This week we applied STEM to sound. We made wind chimes, used springs to simulate sound waves, and made computers sound like instruments. This week was a lot of fun, and we’re really glad we came.
