After years of using heat shrink solutions, both companies preferred gel-sealing's superior features for their installations, prompted by a decreasing skilled labor force. The transition process lasted approximately nine months, including installer training that aligned with sales launches. Key product enhancements include new gel-seal kits for FOSC and FIST-GCO2 closures, benefiting both operators and the Danish Railroad’s €3 billion signaling upgrade.

  2. Connectivity Convention Background Both Telenor and TDC have used FOSC-400 with heat shrink for many years, but had through FIST-GCO2 been introduced to gel-sealing's. Both parties were soon convinced of gel-seals superior features, and to be their preferred choice of sealing. Due to both Telenor and TDC experiencing less skilled labor force to do the installations, a request for a gel-sealed FOSC was made to TE.

  3. Connectivity Convention Process Several meetings at PM level with both Telenor & TDC took place during the process, which took approximately 9 month. Training of installers were planned concurrently with starting sales to TDC, so a good knowledge of the product was already at hand once products came on stock.

  4. Connectivity Convention Products New FOSC-400A/BG-xxxx Changes to the FOSC-400D5-xxxx were made Gel-seal kits for both FOSC & FIST-GCO2 closures

  5. Connectivity Convention Results Spin-offs For the Danish Railroad (BaneDanmark) TE offered a redesigned FOSC-400BG for terminated fibers, which has been chosen for their 3 billion € upgrade of their signaling system. The FOSC-400D5 was also changed, so we have the full range of FOSC- “gel-closures”.
