Paperless at school • 21 Century Learners ~ Technology Standards • “Olive-Us” Own the Learning! • Advantages: • Higher level of engagement • 21st century learning skills • Immediate feedback informs instruction • Detail data ~ history maintained • Fewer missing documents • Neater work ~ improved organization • Uses of technology vary from class to class • Availability of technology resources limited

Paperless at home • Computer at home is NOT required • Paper homework option ~ always available! • Students can make decision daily to choose paper • Parent Tech Support Expectations • Student should be independent! • Increasing exposure at school provides training • Tech problems at home • HW assignments – complete on paper if possible • Parent notify teacher if prohibits HW completion

Spelling City • Online Spelling and Vocabulary Practice • Weekly Pre-tests/Post-tests – in class • Instant, targeted feedback • Maintains history of progress • Paper copy of online assessment available • Weekly Assigned Activities – some time in class • Homework choices: • Log on to complete online activities • Paper options • Activities are not intended to replace studying for spelling words! Students still need to practice lists!
