Some capitalised experiences and sharing tools • Themes • Strengthening Ghana’s District Assemblies for sustainable economic development and rural opportunities • Equipment grant support to graduate apprentices: An effective scheme for business start-up and employment of rural youth in Ghana • District exhibitions and trade shows: A market access tool for rural MSE • Managing business development services in rural Ghana: Through decentralised Business Advisory Centres and Rural Technology Facilities • Sharing tools – REP and FIDAfrique websites, newsletters, knowledge fairs, TV documentaries, Newspaper articles, Factsheets, Brochures,etc

Lessons learnt and way forward • Key lessons learnt • Successful capitalisation requiresappropriateskills and capabilities • Presence of a technically competent Focal Person is very useful • Support from M&E Unit is critical – source of data and other information for the capitalisation process • The sharing/dissemination of capitalised experience makes the project visible • Capacity building in capitalisation enhances writing of project reports • Organizational/institutionalcommitmentisverynecessary for success • The stamina required to translate the dreams of capitalisation to reality has to be sustainable. • The way forward • To make capitalisation a key project activity to be monitored
