  3. Our Concern: Our Concern for Muhlenberg Career Development Center (MCDC) is 30 day retention. We have noticed through statistics that the center needs to improve in the aspect of encouraging students to remain in the program beyond their 30 day period.

  4. Our Challenge: Our challenge as the Student Government Association (SGA) is that we have an abundance of students not meeting their 30 day milestone, whether from disciplinary reasons or resignation.

  5. Why does this matter? This matters to us as an SGA because we want to see our students achieve and succeed in our program. Statistically, when a student completes their 30 days, there is a higher overall success rate.

  6. Task One: Sell The Program

  7. Task Two: Start The Program

  8. Task Three: Support The Program

  9. In Conclusion 30 day retention is a big, but reparable problem at MCDC. Our goal is to increase the retention on our center by introducing a mentor program to week 1 students to help them through their first, and admittedly hardest, milestone.

  10. Has our idea been Sold, Started and Supported? We will know our goal has been accomplished because during any and all follow-ups we will be able to physically see the increase in retention numbers.

  11. Thank you for your time! We wish you all safe travels, and we’ll leave you with this quote: “Do not dim your light to comfort the insecurities of others, rather, inspire them to shine brighter.” -Angel Selvey, VP
