  2. IntroductionMartin was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He died on April 4, 1968. I chose him because he put a stop to segregation. He is famous for standing up for Black Americans so they could have rights.

  3. Childhood When M.L. was two, the Reverend Adam Daniel Williams died suddenly and Daddy King took his place as senior minister at Ebenezer. During his childhood, Martin quikly moved through grades and going to high school younger than most kids his age. During school, he did a good job.

  4. AdolescenceHe entered college at the age of 15. In school, his best subjects were history and English. Along with his love of books and sports, he loved to dance, played the violin, and developed a passion for opera and jitterbugging. President Truman appoints the President’s Committee on civil rights. Martin is ordained as a Baptist minister and becomes assistant pastor to his father at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. A year later he graduates from Morehouse College. Another year later he graduates from Crozer Theological Seminary .

Martin earns PH.D. supreme court’s “ all deliberate speed ” order on school integration announced. Martin is convicted on boycott charges on march 22. Martin and others form the SCLC. On September 3 Martin is arrested on false charge of disobeying a court officer. Sept. 5 Martin is convicted and ordered to pay a $10. fine or serve time in jail. Sept. 20 Martin is stabbed by a mentally ill black woman in a Harlem book store. Adulthood

  7. He helped to abolish segregation and paved the way for black Americans to be treated as equals.He gave black Americans their rights to be treated fairly.

  8. What I Found Interesting I found it interesting that Martin went to college at such a young age. And that he was allowed to go because he was a black man. And without him, whites and blacks would be in separate schools.

  9. My Questions 1. How did you get to college at such a young age? 2. If you could do something different, what would it be? 3. Why did you make things the way they are now? These are some questions to think about.
