Review and Update of UoS Charging Statement by DNOs: Mini-Consultation Results

The recent mini-consultation led by Oliver Day on behalf of the DNOs has shown a unanimous preference for the revised Option 2 of the UoS Charging Statement. This option offers a clearer and better-organized document structure, reflecting updates from EDCM import charge changes. Key updates include placing charge tables in an annex and providing a corresponding spreadsheet. DNOs are preparing individual statements requiring approval by the Authority, with notices for the April price change to be issued by late December. Approval for each statement is necessary by April 1, 2012.

  2. UoS Charging Statement Industry sub-group established to review UoS statement. Group developed a second statement option. Mini-consultation held to identify stakeholder preference between options 1 and 2. 19 responses received all in favour of 2 option.

Option 2 • Restructured document to provide better clarity and improve organisation of wording. • Statement updated for EDCM import charge changes. • Schedule of charges tables placed in an annex to the statement. • Spreadsheet with charge tables will also be provided. These are intended to mirror the tables in the model.

  4. Next Steps • Statements are now being prepared by DNOs. • These will need to be individually ‘form’ approved by the Authority for each DNO area. • The three month notices of the April price change will be issued towards the end December. • Receipt of form approval for the published charging statement is required before 1 April 2012.
