Twenty former Ph.D. students and three current ones have worked in the following areas: • Industrial process monitoring: Involving, e.g., multivariate methods, time series models, Markov chains, and regression. • Taguchi on-line and multivariate methods • Critiques of fuzzy logic • Profile monitoring • Health-related monitoring

  4. To work with me, you should take STAT 6494 Advanced Topics in Mathematical Statistics (on Advanced Statistical Quality Control) in Spring 2008.

  8. Advice to M.S. Students • Learn details, but don’t forget the bigger picture. • Keep an open mind about research and obtaining a Ph.D.

  9. Advice to Ph.D. Students • Choose research area carefully. • Meet regularly with advisor. • Submit papers for publication while writing your dissertation. • Expect ups and downs.
