  1. Visiting/working at Los Alamos:Just a little paperwork –A lot can be performed on-lineprior to your visit!

  2. LANL is greatly concerned for your safety in the laboratory environment. • You may encounter hazards that you are unaware of, • for example Beryllium. • As a result of this concern the laboratory will make you aware of hazards you might encounter and train you to employ safe working practices. • The training you will receive enhances your safety and that of your fellow workers. • LANL is entrusted with an important national security mission. It is essential that you be aware of your responsibility not to compromise the lab’s procedures regarding security.

  3. Prior to your visit to Los Alamos: • Please complete a “P-25 visitors questionnaire”, a copy is included at the end of this presentation. • Contact Miquela Sanchez at Miquela@lanl.gov or 505-665-5866, for a copy of this form in a pdf file, she will e-mail it to you. • Over a calendar year’s time what would be your estimate for how long you think you may visit LANL; days, weeks? • Please complete LANL’s on-line trainingfrom the link on the LANL external page (see next slide) – you can also contact TA53 training office at 505-665-4374 if you have any questions, they are very helpful - • Here is the link to the LANL external WEB page • http://www.lanl.gov/index.php • (see next slide)

This is available through the TA-53 visitor/training office. If you currently have either GERT training or Rad-worker training please forward or bring a copy of your training record with you. • Any additional training will depend on the type of work you wish to perform, please think about what activity you may wish to be involved with and let us know. • Examples; electrical work, cryogens, compressed gas, soldering, etc.

  7. Am I done yet? - Almost • As you will see while filling out the P-25 questionnaire, there is additional information needed from visitors who are “foreign nationals”. • Additional time may be needed to process you visitors request, a minimum of 30 days for visitors from non-sensitive countries. • “Is Texas a sensitive country?” Not yet. – Miquela Sanchez can answer questions concerning sensitive countries.

  8. So where do I go? • A good place to start is at the LANL badge office. This is easy to locate via the maps and directions provided off the LANL external home page, click on “visiting Los Alamos” and you will see a drop down page with a link to the badge office, along with links for directions and maps. • TA-53, or the LANSCE facility is on East Jemez Road.
