  3. What does Lab Safety Mean? • Lab Safety Precautions: • Think before you act • Know the location of safety equipment in room • Know how to use the equipment

  4. Good Lab Safety Habits • The following are good lab safety habits to develop: • Always wear proper lab apparel (i.e. aprons, goggles, gloves, etc.) • Report all safety injuries to teacher • NEVER SMELL ANYTHING IN THE LAB, UNLESS YOU RECEIVE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS TO DO SO!!! • NEVER, NEVER EAT, DRINK OR APPLY MAKEUP IN THE LAB!!!!!

  5. Good Safety Fieldwork Practices • Never reach into holes or under rocks • Wash your hands after you finish your field work !! (Do this for all labs in general) Lab Coat

  6. Why have Safety Rule? • To Keep students safe while they are doing labs! • To prevent lab accidents! • Safety Rules Must be Strictly followed!!!! • Always wear appropriate clothing and have proper safety attire on.

  7. Lab Safety Symbols • Safety Symbols-def-pg15- a symbol • that warns you about a danger that • may exist from chemicals,electricity, • heat,etc. • Be able to identify all the lab safety • symbols identified in your textbook • (safety symbols found on pg.1107 or • front cover of the text)
