CONFIGURING DEVICES on the AS/400 One device description required for every device attached Automatic by turning on QAUTOCFG (set to 1) operator plugs in device and turns it on SYSTEM configures and assigns name After the device creation turn QAUTCFG off (0) else it might at the next IPL create extraneous device descriptions (lots of head aches) Manually create the device description and use copy (option 3) to create any others that are required.Requires a new name and address
