English 11 – Mask Poem Dave D. By: David Dolezal
Lives once lost upon an island Originally thought to be blind Rescued once in a lifetime Does one’s own weary mind Of one’s own ambition Filthy children find their own tuition The Lord of the Flies’ own might He who brings us night Endows on us great light For the time is growing old Lives are getting cold Irony is getting told Even when Sorrow is far from untold Moral: Who can tell one’s own fate if it hasn’t happened yet. Fate is unfolding But not fortolding.
