  2. LIONS CLUBS VS. WEBSITE STATISTICS NUMBER OF WORLDWIDE LCI CHARTERED LIONS CLUBS:46,509* * Number of clubs at end of 2011. NUMBER OF UNITED STATES LCI CHARTERED LIONS CLUBS: 1,841 (3.96%) NUMBER OF ARIZONA LCI CHARTERED LIONS CLUBS: 130 (7.06%) NUMBER OF ARIZONA LIONS CLUBS SHOWING WEBSITES**: 45 (34.6%) **NUMBER OF ARIZONA SITES NOT ROUTINELY UPDATED OR MAINTAINED: 41 (91.1%) 65.4%OF ARIZONA LIONS CLUBS ARE NOT ON THE WORLD WIDE WEB!

  3. Q: WHY BOTHER HAVING A WEBSITE? In today’s world ‘social media’ like FaceBook, Twitter and Blogging are fast becoming the accepted method of mass communications (just ask USPS). All clubs are scrambling to expand their membership. A club who is not active in the ‘social media’ world (including web presence) is considered obsolete and most likely will not be able to sign up the younger crowd into their club. When anyone wants to know something about a topic or event, the first place to go is the internet website. It is imperative that Lions Clubs have up-to-date presence on the internet to survive! A website also assists in giving the local community at large a source of accurate information when donations are solicited or voluntarily made to the club. e-Clubhouse has programmed into the site a Members Only password protected area whereby information pertinent to only your club members can only be accessed with both user name (your email address) and password created by your Webmaster (that can be changed on a regular basis for security).

  4. TOOLS REQUIRED TO CREATE AND UPLOAD A WEBSITE PC OR LAPTOP $$$ INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER (ISP) $$$ RESERVE DOMAIN NAME WITH MONTHLY/YEARLY FEES $$$ WEBSITE CREATION SOFTWARE (or HTML programmer) $$$ WEB SPACE RENTAL FROM SERVER (aka WEB HOSTING) $$$ ABILITY TO GO INTO SITE AND UPDATE $$$ NO COSTS WITH e-Clubhouse FIXED CLUB COSTS INCURRED

  5. Free Web design for Lions Clubs was created in 1995 by a volunteer group of international HTML programmers under LionNet. Sites developed in 2000 under the name LionWAP was re-introduced at the 2006 USA/CANADA Forum using a similar sample template through the dedicated efforts of LionNet . Then in 2009 e-Clubhouse was launched.

  6. The current Arizona MD21 web site was created utilizing LionNet called a LionNet Node. This is one of the initial eighteen nodes created for the United States.

  7. LCI e-Clubhouse website-building software now offers EXCELLENT step-by-step tutorials, fill-in-the-blank fields and pre-formatted templates to assist you along the way. In every case you will be given examples of choices available for you to complete a particular task. Unlike previous LCI/LionNet Node website development, knowledge of computer HTML code programming is NOLONGER a requirement to develop a web site!

  8. WHAT IS HTML CODE? HYPERTEXT MARKUP LANGUAGE or the standardized method by which web browsers can interpret and compose text, images and other material into visual or audible web pages. (Example) <IMG SRC="we_serve1.gif" HEIGHT=202 WIDTH=221 ALIGN=LEFT><BR> <CENTER> <B><FONT SIZE=+4>Federation City Lions Club</FONT></B> <BR> <B><FONT SIZE=-1>Pardon our appearance ... <IMG SRC="undercon.gif" HEIGHT=38 WIDTH=38> we're still building this site !</FONT></B></P> </CENTER> (Yields)

This cannot be changed or removed by you. Any updates or changes are accomplished by LCI e-Clubhouse corporate programmers.
