The CATS EHV met on January 6, 2009, and appointed a new chairman. The 2009 study work has been revised, with the mega-project analysis postponed until 2010. Biennial Transmission Assessment (BTA) work will be conducted this year. Notable objectives include evaluating the impact of large generation injections at Arizona 500 kV busses and determining transmission capabilities to support injections of 1000-3000 MW. This study aligns with statutory BTA requirements, Arizona Renewables reporting, and NERC compliance. Contact LeeAnn Torkelson for further details.
