  2. Target students • Students who take their placement test during the last two weeks before classes begin and are Wi3 (need reading, writing and math developmental classes). • Wi3 students who encounter financial aid or other difficulties during the first two weeks of the semester (during the drop/add period)

  3. Objectives of Late Start Program • Allow for enrollment for these students while increasing their chances of completion • Wi3 students registering within two weeks of semester beginning have a course completion rate of 52% • Allow more time for these students to get their Financial Aid in order prior to start of classes • Allow for these students to be better prepared for classes and to have textbooks on the first day

  4. Courses • Reading and Study Skills courses start Week 5 and last for 12 weeks. • The reading class is a crosslisted level one reading and level two reading section. Students are using level two reading textbooks. • Study skills uses a 10 week MyFoundationsLab code (First 4 weeks math, last 6 weeks reading and writing). • Math course begins Week 9 and lasts for 8 weeks. • All Developmental Math modules are 8 weeks long. • Math 11a + Math 11b = Prealgebra • Math 12a + Math 12b = Introductory Algebra • Math 16a + Math 16b = Intermediate Algebra • All students were enrolled in an “a” math for the second 8 weeks.
