  12. Not all verbs are reflexive • When do I use a reflexive verb? • Is the subject doing something to himself or herself? • Yes → Use a reflexive pronoun • No → Just conjugate regularly Reflexive or not?

  13. Susana looks in the mirror. • Is Susana doing something to herself? • Yes – the verb would be reflexive • Susana looks at the TV. • Is Susana doing something to herself? • No – the verb would be regular verb. Reflexive or not?

  14. Susana eats tacos. • Not doing it to herself – not reflexive • Susana combs her hair. • Doing it to herself – reflexive • Susana combs her teacher’s hair. • Not doing it to herself – not reflexive Reflexive or not?

  15. Change only the reflexive pronoun at the END of the sentence • The reflexive pronoun should ALWAYS agree with the subject Infinitives Yo quiero lavarme. Tú prefieres afeitar por la mañana. te

  16. English: I was MY face. • Spanish: Use el, la, los, las with body parts or clothing after a reflexive verb. • I wash my face. • Yo me lavo la cara. Body parts
