Districts are mandated to perform an annual self-assessment of their special education programs, known as the District Self-Assessment (DSA). A local Steering Committee, composed of essential stakeholders, will review data and student files to ensure compliance and enhance student outcomes. Required members include parents, general and special education teachers, and program representatives. The DSA process serves as the district's needs assessment for resource allocation and must inform the district's Five-Year Strategic Plan. For inquiries, contact the Office of Special Programs.
