Eratosthenes: Astronomer PowerPoint By Nate Silva 12/17/09
Eratosthenes • I’m reporting on Eratosthenes who was a famous Epic Poet, librarian, scholar, inventor, athlete, astronomer and mathematician. He was born in Cyrene (modern day Libya). He died in Alexandria, Egypt almost completely blind. Some people say committed suicide by starvation. His nickname was beta (the second letter in the greek alphabet) because he was the second best in every field.
