  1. Tunisia • Tunisia is the smallest country in North Africa and it is mostly made up of Arabian Maghreb's. • The current event in Tunisia is about a video denigrating the Prophet Muhammad that expanded to Tunisia in September 2012, with demonstrators storming the American Embassy. The Tunisian police said at least three protesters were killed and 28 people were wounded.

  2. Algeria • Algeria is an Arab country in the Maghreb region of Africa. Its capital (and most populous city) is Algiers. • Thousands of people defied a government ban on demonstrations and poured into the Algerian capital for a pro-democracy rally, and the head of the country's human rights group said as many as 400 people had been arrested.

  3. Egypt • Egypt is one of the most populous countries in Africa and the Middle East, and the 15th most populated in the world. • The event took place following a popular uprising that began on Tuesday, 25 January 2011. The uprising was mainly a campaign of non-violent civil resistance, which featured a series of demonstrations, marches, acts of civil disobedience, and labor strikes. • Millions of protesters from a variety of socio-economic and religious backgrounds demanded the overthrow of the regime of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. • Despite being predominantly peaceful in nature, the revolution was not without violent clashes between security forces and protesters, with at least 846 people killed and 6,000 injured.

  4. Libya is the 17th largest country in the world. • The largest city and capital, Tripoli, is home to 1.7 million of Libya's 6.4 million people. • The attack in Libya came after demonstrations Tuesday evening in Cairo, Egypt, where protesters scaled the wall of the U.S. embassy and burned its American flag. • Embassy officials in Cairo put out a statement that condemned "the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims -- as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions." It also condemned an "unjustified breach of our embassy.“ • The US Ambassador along with 3 other Americans were killed during the attack and many others wounded. Libya

  5. Saudi Arabia • Saudi Arabia has the world's second largest oil reserves which are concentrated largely in the Eastern Province and oil accounts for more than 95% of exports and 70% of government revenue. • Political prisoners in Saudi Arabia have been doing what was once unthinkable in this kingdom and holding small protests outside prisons and government buildings to demand the release of inmates, some of whom have been held without charges for years. • To avoid widespread unrest, the kingdom introduced several economic and social measures worth $130 billion. But at the same time it passed a religious edict banning public demonstrations.

  6. Jordan • Jordan is classified as a country of "medium human development“ • Thousands of Jordanians have attended a protest demanding political reforms in Amman, hours after King Abdullah called early parliamentary elections. • The Muslim Brotherhood's political wing, the Islamic Action Front, called for broader political representation and a more democratic parliament. • People at the protest chanted: "The people want to reform the regime."

  7. Yemen is considered one of the poorest countries in the Arab world. • Hundreds of Yemeni demonstrators stormed the U.S. embassy compound in Sanaa in protest at a film they consider blasphemous to Islam, and clashes with security forces killed at least one person and injured 15 others. Yemen

  8. Syria is the largest Arab state to emerge from the formerly Ottoman-ruled Arab Levant. • Protests against President Bashar al-Assad continue, despite the violent crackdown by the government that has killed more than 9,000 people, according to United Nations estimates. Internationally, there has been widespread condemnation and calls for Assad to step down amid increased violence. Syria
