Why I want to help • My brother is currently serving as a Marine. • My biggest concern for when he transitions back in civilian life is, how he is going to find. • I have also conducted interviews with Veterans and found that most of Veterans believe that finding a job is the most difficult aspect of transitioning. • I want to create a way to help Veterans more easily get back into today’s tough job market!

  3. Job fair! • To create more assistance for Veterans I want to create an annual travelling Job Fair, just for Veterans. • The fair would be held once a year. • For newly transitioning Veterans this allows them to quickly get into the job market. • For Veterans who might have re-entered civilian life years ago, they are continually given chances to find a job or even a new job. • The fair would only be open to Veterans seeking employment in the state of Ohio

  4. Job fair! • By only allowing Veterans to participate in the job fair, the Veterans will not be asked to compete with civilians. This is an opportunity for Veterans only. • By having the fair travel to a new city in Ohio every year, we are giving Veterans in all areas of Ohio a chance to not have to travel as far every year. • The fair will also provide an opportunity for Veterans to interact and socialize with other Ohio Veterans. Not only are they able to network with businesses and companies for potential jobs, but they are also able to make social connections.

Why the vfw? • Why am I asking you for assistance? • With your help we can advertise the Job Fair opportunity to the many different branches across Ohio. • With the support of the Ohio Department VFW we can get the support of businesses and companies across Ohio to participate in the Fair and provide job opportunities to our Veterans.

  6. What will it accomplish • I hope that with your help and support to create an annual job fair that provides Veterans with the opportunity to find careers in today’s job market and also create new and larger social circles with the Veterans of Ohio. • I want to ensure that not only my brother, but all Ohio Veterans are able to find careers and jobs that give them benefits but are also jobs they enjoy!
