  1. Pretend that you are a colonist moving into Texas in the 1800’s. Write a postcard to a friend in the United States or in Europe describing the colony you have settled in and your reasons for moving there. Write the message on the bottom section of the page and sketch a picture on the top section of the page. Colonies Postcard • Your postcard must contain: • a proper salutation and closing • three reasons why you moved to the colony • at least two difficulties you had while moving to the colony • an illustration in the stamp that depicts the colony you choose • address of who you are writing your post card • check for spelling and grammatical errors • a colorful image depicting at least one of the colony’s best features (on the top section)
