  3. Parental Expectations • Call into school ASAP on the day your child is absent. Provide nurse with information regarding your child’s illness and how long your child is expected to be absent. • Check your child’s take home folder daily for important notes from the school. • Assist your child with daily reading.

  4. PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!! In class assistance, field trip chaperones, holiday party planners, guest readers and speakers. Thank you in advance!

  5. Student’s Daily Reading Log • Every student is expected to read at home for 30 minutes, 5 days a week. • Students may read WITH an adult, read out loud to an adult, or read silently in the presence of an adult! • Students may read from ANY source they wish; books, magazines, comic book… • Parents must sign log sheet daily.

  6. Field Trips!!! • We are planning to take 3 field trips this year. Students that are not up to date on their reading logs will NOT be able to attend!!!!! • October- Smith’s Apple Orchard • January- Ross Air force Base • April- Hallmark Creative Center DON’T MISS OUT ON THE FUN!!

  7. MATH AND YOUR CHILD!!! Jones elementary school has come up with a program rewarding students and their families that attend weekend math games!!!

  8. Weekend Math Games Math Games will be scheduled for every 1st and 3rd Saturday and Sunday of the month;10 am to 12am. At least one adult MUST accompany each student. Rewards include restaurant gift certificates and IMAX tickets!

  9. Problems, Concerns and Special Circumstances! PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Keep me informed of ANY situations that may be affecting your child. I cannot help if I do not know!!!
