  2. The Decision As a group with came up with a decision as in what we wanted to do our project about. We decided to pick a topic that we all could relate to and many Americans.
  3. Effect of Low Income Everyday someone is effect by low in-come wages, so this is a way we could try to make people aware of the struggling citizens that rely on minimum wage.
  4. Relation to the Group The group could relate to the question because we are all full time student and relying on minimum wage to support daily. We see a lot of low-poverty family in Massachusetts. So we would like to see a change to help minimum wage workers.
  5. Massachusetts Minimum Wage Massachusetts is 7th on the list for highest hourly paid minimum wages but it contradicts itself because it’s expensive to live here. Boston, Mass is the 9th most expensive place to live. It is all the 119 on the world most expensive places to live.
  6. Massachusetts Minimum Wage Laws Starting 2008 the Massachusetts minimum was up to $8.00 and haven’t be raised since then. Employees doesn’t have to pay there employees for sick days or vacations.
  7. Massachusetts Blue Law Some employees don’t get paid for holidays, night work, and weekends. But the Massachusetts Blue Laws, M.G.L. c. 136, §§6, 13, & 16, makes some retails pay for all that.
  8. Bad effects of Minimum Wage Low-Income Poor housings Live from pay check to pay check. Rely on state benefits Struggle for food Can’t afford new clothing Hard to support family
  9. Economy There are many companies that are laying off employees. Those employees make more then the minimum wage. Since the economy is bad a lot of people are force to work 2-3 minimum wage jobs to support their family.
  10. Raising Minimum Wage You can’t raise minimum wage easily because it could affect the economy. Some state it could lower competitiveness and impede economic growth, which encourages the out source of jobs.
