Greater Manchester & Cheshire Cancer Network A Network Approach to Improving the Management of Breast Disease A Joint Primary Care and Breast Specialist Education Event Mr Ashu Gandhi, Consultant Breast Surgeon; Mrs Coral Higgins, Breast Clinical Sub-Group Facilitator; Mrs Barbara Hughes, Primary Care Cross Cutting Group Facilitator Greater Manchester & Cheshire Cancer Network, Gateway House, Piccadilly South, Manchester M60 7LP Event Evaluation Main Aims • Develop a greater understanding of the patient pathway for primary care physicians • Breast specialists to understand & appreciate the difficulties faced by General Practitioners and the events leading to referral decisions • Other Aims: • Support GPs in referral decisions by Sharing Current Thinking and Best Practice in management of breast disease • Provide refresher training in Clinical Breast Examination Skills • Use Modern Teaching Methods and a Multidisciplinary Approach to Learning • Get to know Clinical Colleagues from outside local area • Discuss and Debate Current Issues in the management of breast disease Methods • Modern teaching methods used: • Audience participation via electronic voting system • Interactive case studies using simulated patients • Practical sessions for Clinical Breast Examination using models • Q&A session with expert panel • Multidisciplinary Approach – Audience and Speakers Would you like to attend similar events for other tumours?
