  1. MATH 110 TEST RULES

  2. Test Rules--Registration Test 1 week for the MTLC begins Sunday, 2/6. Math 110 Test 1 is scheduled for Wednesday, 2/9. Every student must register for a time to take the test on the scheduled day. Online registration is open the whole week before test week: from 8am Friday to 5pm the following Friday Failure to register WILL result in a penalty on your test score.

  3. Test Rules--Registration Online registration is quick and easy and can be done anywhere. • Go to www.mtlc.ua.edu • Select ‘Test Info & Grade Book’ on the left; then ‘Test Registration’ under that. • Enter your login information • Select “register” from the right side of the screen • Select a time that doesn’t conflict with any other part of your schedule. • Keep the confirmation email you will receive. Without it you have no proof in case something goes wrong. • Always check to make sure your registration went through correctly. You can always log back in and see your day and time.

  4. Changes in Registration During online registration: • Any time - just log in, cancel, and re-register • No penalty After online registration closes (5pm Friday before test week): • Changes must be made in person in the MTLC • WILL result in a penalty on your test score

  5. Penalties • Failure to register during online registration period • 10 point penalty from your test grade. • Changes in your test time or day after the close of the online registration period • 5 point penalty from your test grade. • If you miss your schedule testing time • you must come to the lab in person right away and reschedule your test • 10 point penalty to your test grade for missing your exam

  6. Penalties • If all sessions are full/closed when you come to register in person: • Additional 10 point penalty deducted from your test grade. • All penalties are cumulative.

  7. Taking Test Early • EARLY = BEFORE TEST WEEK • Last day test will be given early is the last day of registration for that particular test. (Ex. Test 1 would be Fri. 2/4) • No registration required to take test early • Bring photo identification to MTLC • No tests on Sundays • Must start an early test by 8pm (3pm on Fridays)

Test Rules--Studying • The MTLC will NOT be available for studying or doing math work from 8am-8pm on Monday-Thursday of test weeks • Back lab at the MTLC will only be available for studying from 8-10pm on Monday – Thursday of test week, but will be open as usual on Sunday and Friday. (Except FE) • The CTL offers help sessions for Math 110 in the MTLC two days each week. • The CTL offers test reviews for Math 110 before each test.

  9. Test Rules • Be on time for your test. • Bring a picture ID (student ID or driver’s license). We cannot give you credit for your test unless we know it’s you. • Official test paper and last minute instructions will be given out in the hallway. • Have cell phones, iPods, etc. OFF AND PUT AWAYbefore getting your test paper.

  10. Test Rules No electronic devices of any kind are allowed during a test. • No cell phones, blackberries, or texting devices of any kind. • Cell phones need to be out of sight and OFF • No music devices of any kind • No hand-held calculators. You may use ONLY the calculator on the computer. Familiarize yourself with this calculator before the test. MTLC staff WILL NOT assist you with its use during the test. Any violation is grounds for charges of academic misconduct.

Test Rules—Testing area • When you enter the testing area all books, notebooks, purses, etc. must be put away ON THE FLOOR. • Once you enter the testing area no studying is allowed. • Your official test paper is your scratch paper. The MTLC will provide you with additional scratch paper if needed. You MAY NOT use your own paper for the test. • Please bring your own pencils or pens.

  13. Test Rules NO OTHER WEBSITES OR WINDOWS ARE ALLOWED TO BE OPENED DURING A TEST. This includes any other type of calculator besides the one provided on the computer by the MTLC. Any violation is grounds for charges of academic misconduct.

  14. Test Rules • Each test is 25 questions, 75 minutes • The test software is equipped with “next” and “previous” buttons. Use these to navigate between test questions. • Do not click the browser’s “back” button or anywhere outside the test window – this will close your test. • When finished with test, DO NOT click the “submit” button until an MTLC staff member is present.

  15. Test Rules Quiz • There is a link to the Test Rules Quiz under Test 1 Work in the software. • The Test Rules Quiz is due by 4:45pm on Friday, 2/4. • You may refer to your syllabus during this quiz and you have two attempts. MAKE 100%!! It counts!!
