August-October 2014 Issue # 1 First Grade News COMMUNICATION Book of the month The book of the month for July and August is Yes Day! by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld. This is a delightful book about the pleasure of having a Yes Day for children of all ages. How would you feel if you could have your very own Yes Day? What would you request include? Welcome Parents and Students to the 2014-2015 school year. We are excited to work and learn from each of you this school year. Parents communication is a key component to a successful school year. Please know that each teacher is available to discuss your child’s progress, answer questions, address concerns, or listen to suggestions. Please contact your child’s teacher by sending a written note with your child, schedule a conference, or send an e-mail. Science – Investigating Properties and Patterns in Weather, Investigating Properties and Patterns, Investigating Force, Motion, and Energy. Social Studies – Relating to Others: Family & School, Celebrate Freedom Week, and Relating to Other: Citizenship.
