TSCHECHIEN Systemtyp:Parlamentarisches System Verfassung: 1992 Rückbezug auf erste Tschechoslowakische Republik Parlament: asymetrisches Zweikammernsystem, 200 Abg./ 4 Jahre; 81 Sen./ alle 2 Jahre wird 1/3 ausgewechselt Wahlsystem: • Erste Kammer: Wahlkreise/ Mehr-Personen-Listen/ Verhältniswahl/ 5%-Hürde • Zweite Kammer: Wahlkreise/ Ein-Personen-Listen/ Mehrheitswahl Direktdemokratische Instrumente:Plebiszitnur regional Gesetzgebung:Mehrheit der Anwesenden, Vfg.-Gesetze und internationale Verträge: 3/5 aller MPs und der anwesenden SenatorInnen Regierung: Misstrauensvotum nur gegen gesamte Regierung

Präsident: 3 Wahlgänge, Wahl durch Parlament, 5 Jahre, 1x Wiederwahl mgl., repräsentative Funktion Parteien-System: Tendenz zu bipolarem „links-rechts“-System EU-Beitrittsgesuch: Jänner 1996 Eröffnung der Beitrittsverhandlungen: März 1998 EU-Referendum: Juni 2003, Ja: 77,3% (Beteiligung 55,2%) EP-Wahlen: 28,3% Wahlbeteiligung EB-Umfrage 2006: 66% pro EU (über EU-Durchschnitt) Übernimmt im ersten Halbjahr 2009 die Ratspräsidentschaft Problematische Themen: Bénes-Dekrete, AKWs (Témélin), US-Raketenradar (Ex-Präsident Havel pro, Grüne skeptisch, Opposition dagegen, mehr als 60% der Beölkerung dagegen)
