  1. Rock-It Poetry: 2/21 Cloie Langdon

  2. “in Just”E.E. Cummings from hop-scotch and jump-rope and it's spring and          the                   goat-footed balloonMan          whistles far and wee in Just- spring          when the world is mud- luscious the little lame balloonman whistles          far          and wee and eddieandbill come running from marbles and piracies and it's spring when the world is puddle-wonderful the queer old balloonman whistles far          and             wee and bettyandisbel come dancing

  3. Diction Begins happy and jolly language that is descriptive. *“spring” *“luscious” *“hop-scotch” *“jump-rope” Changes to darker language. *“queer old balloonman” *“goat-footed” *“little lame balloonman”

  4. Imagery With very bright imagery, the reader is able to easily imagine what is happening. “hop-scotch” “jump-rope” “whistles”

  5. Details The details that describe the balloonman are very mysterious. The reader does not know much about the balloonman until the end when he is described as “goat-footed” and “queer”.

  6. Language *Childish words like “eddieandbill” and “bettyanddisbel”. *Repitition of the line “whistles far and wee”.

  7. Sentence Structure *No rhyme scheme. *Breaks between the words make it seem like children’s thoughts.
