  1. Archery in Mythology!

  2. Introduction to Archery Archery is a form of sport in which a person is tested on is skill of using a bow to propel arrows. The word derives from the Latin word ‘arcus’. Although a competitive sport today, historically archery has been used for hunting and combat. The first mentions of archery go all the way back to ancient Rome, in which deities and heroes were often described as archers. https://mumbai.sfanow.in/

  3. Modern competitive archery. Modern competitive archery is used to describe the action of arrows shooting at a target to check accuracy from set distances. In today’s world this is the most common form of archery worldwide and is known as target archery. In Europe and America, a more popular version of the sport is field archer, which usually involves shooting arrows at targets in a wooded setting. There are many forms of archery, many of which are lesser known and historical forms as well as a selection of archery novelty games. Archery tournaments are played at international levels, the highest level being the Olympics and Paralympics. https://mumbai.sfanow.in/

  4. Target Archery Modern archery involves target archery whose governing body is World Archery Federation (WA). The rules set by WA are also used in the Olympics. Archery competitions can be held either indoors or outdoors, with a distance of 18m indoors and between 25m to 90m outdoors. Shooting the arrows usually have a time limit of two minutes for three arrows and competitions are divided into ends of 3 or 6 arrows. https://mumbai.sfanow.in/

  5. Field Archery. Another form of modern archery, this involves shooting at targets from different distances and usually in a rough setting. The three most common rounds of field archery are field, hunter and animal. Field rounds are played at even distances which can be 80 yards and the targets can be black bullseye, a white center, ring with a black outer and a ring. Hunting rounds are played at uneven distances of 70 yards with a scoring identical to field rounds and animal rounds use life-size 2D animal targets with ‘uneven’ distances. Archery tournaments in the modern age consist of all of the above archery forms. https://mumbai.sfanow.in/
