Testing your knowledge: • True or False: • To gain the benefits of exercise, you must exercise every day. • False- benefits can be obtained from less frequent exercise (5 days / week) • Girls will develop big manly muscles by lifting weights. • False- girls will increase muscle mass, but not bulky muscles. • Lifting weights develops cardio-respiratory endurance. • False- lifting weights is an anaerobic exercise.

Knowledge- continued • Teens need more sleep than their younger siblings or their parents need. • True • Eating too much protein, carbohydrate, fat will make you gain weight. • True • Fiber isn’t important because it cannot be absorbed. • False- fiber aides with digestion efficiency. • Snacking is bad for you. • False- choosing the right snacks can be a healthy option.

What do you feel and what is happening? 3. Now, count your beats when I say “start”. Hold for 30 seconds and multiply by 2 = RHR.
