  1. I John 1:7 Continual Cleansing

  2. Continual Cleansing Context…I Jn. 1:6-9 • If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

  11. Why? Continual Cleansing

  12. Why? Continual Cleansing Wanting assurance that we are saved?

  13. We can be assured… • that we have eternal life (I Jn. 5:13-14).

  14. We can be Assured… • that we have eternal life (I Jn. 5:13-14). • that we have eternal life in the context of occurring sin (I Jn. 5:16-17).

  15. We can be Assured… • that we have eternal life (I Jn. 5:13-14). • that we have eternal life in the context of occurring sin (I Jn. 5:16-17). • that a sin not unto eternal death is a sin confessed, repented of and prayed over to be assured of eternal life (I Jn. 1:9, Acts 8:22-24, I Jn. 1:7).

  16. 1:7). • on these grounds, so we will continually strive to live holy lives, being continually aware of our sins!
