  15. Establish District Disability (MR and Learning Disabilities) Resource Center in DIET, Pitampura (Northwest District of Delhi)

  16. OBJECTIVES • To identify the MR and Learning Disabilities among students at elementary level • To assess the category level/percentage of disability (MR and Learning Disabilities) among school children at elementary level. • To provide necessary/ requisites intervention to overcome the identified disabilities. • To develop TLM/ Activities/ Kit to cater the needs of disable, differently abled children under different types of learning disability and MR at various level/ category of disability.

METHODOLOGY • Orientation cum training programme on Learning Disability & MR for ETE students • Selection & procurement of Screening Assessment, Evaluation tools LD & MR • Organization Assessment Camp for identified children with LD & MR • Two training cum workshops of 3 days each on development of TLM/ Activities/ Kit/ IIP for teachers of identified schools

Plan for the Utilization & Dissemination • Proposed Project will be a Proto type for intervention in Learning Disability & MR in the school system • Project can be extended as “Impact study of intervention” in the said area. • Project report will be prepared and disseminated to all the stake holders like SCERT, DIETs, UEEM, DTE of Education etc for further benefits.

Developing Resource Centre for Communication in English OBJECTIVES The teacher and students will be able to: • learn about the various genres of Language & Literature. • practice correct pronunciation, stress of alphabet in a word as well as stress of word in sentence. • recognize the intonation and correlate it to the text. • Practice modulation in voice for role play, recitation and other oral activities. • Develop learning aids for classroom activities which are child friendly. • Discuss class room problems in teaching English and seek solutions with the help of resource centre.

Orientation Programme for In-service Teachers in story-telling OBJECTIVES:- • To familiarize teachers with various strategies of Oral communication skills. • To expose teachers to the various operational aspects of spoken skills of language like intonation and modulation of voice. • To orient teachers with the different techniques of story telling.

  22. METHODOLOGY • 1 day workshop for developing course design for 2 day training. • 2-day orientation programme of PRTs of DDE and MCD in story telling. • 1 day follow up programme

  23. Orientation of pupil teachers and in- service teachers in classroom teaching learning strategies focusing on story telling. OBJECTIVES • To orient pupil teachers with the various techniques of story telling. • To familiarize pupil teachers with the variety of components of speech. • To expose pupil teachers to different kinds of intonation, stress of voice and modulation of speech • To provide opportunities for self expression and creativity through various modes.

  24. METHODOLOGY • 1 day workshop for developing course design • 3 day workshop for ETE Trainees in story telling both in English and Hindi language. • Other activities proposed for enhancement of story telling skills of ETE trainees in English and Hindi Language. • A) Story narration in morning assembly activities at least-twice a week. • B) Organizing inter-house and inter DIET completion in story-telling both in English and Hindi.
