  6. Gandhi –The BAD!

  7. Nathuram Godse Gandhi’s Assassins

  8. Who is Nathuram Godse? • Gandhi-Ji’s Assassin… • Devotional Brahmin family • Joined anti-caste movements and maintained that all Hindus were of equal status as to rights, • Pro-Gandhi to an extent… “As to my mind these two ideologies have contributed more to the molding of the thought and action of the Indian people during the last thirty years or so, than any other single factor has done.”

  9. WHY DID HE KILL GANDHI?

  10. Two hundred and fifty thousand Hindus were killed in Noakhali in October 1946. Hindu women were forced to remove their sindhoor and do Muslim rituals. And Gandhi said, 'Hindus must bow their heads if Muslims want to kill them. We should follow the principle of ahimsa (non-violence).'

  11. "Gandhi systematically fooled the people by saying, 'I'll accept the Partition of the country over my dead body.' But still he partitioned India. So we killed him..."

  12. Some History… :[ • Indian Independence: August 15, 1947 • Indian/Pakistan Partition: 1947 • Gandhi Ji’s Death: Jan. 30, 1948 *No, Pakistan did not gain freedom one day before India, after the partition, Pakistan choose to celebrate Independence on August 14, even though they really gained freedom on August 15.

  13. Train to Pakistan “The fact is, both sides killed.” An estimated one million people were killed during the partition, and more than 10 million fled their homes: Hindus and Sikhs pouring into India, Muslims heading in the other direction, to Pakistan.

  14. Our conclusion: • We believe that Nathuram killed Gandhi Ji because he went against his word about the Indian partition. • Nathuram believed that Gandhi was teaching Hindus not to stand up and fight when he said“'Hindus must bow their heads if Muslims want to kill them.”He believed that ahimsa was the reason why so many Hindus were killed.

  15. So What…? • Was Gandhi good or bad, • Nobody is going to win, there is no correct answer.
