  3. Name of substances Ans. DSM lists the following substances: -- Benzodiazepines and benzodiazepine-like meds [mainly used for insomnia] -- Carbamates [meprobamate; glutethimide] -- Barbiturates and barbiturate-like

  4. Intoxication Q. DSM-IV lists 6 signs, any one of which suffices for the dx if use of the substance is followed by significant untoward behavior or feelings. Name the 6 signs.

  5. Intoxication Ans. 1] slurred speech 2] incoordination 3] unsteady gait 4] nystagmus 5] impaired memory 6] stupor or coma [Note that this is exactly the same list as for alcohol intoxication, which helps remember this list.]
