Over five years, Rice University's IT department conducted annual surveys of faculty, staff, and students with a response rate ranging from 8% to 40%. Notably, a freshman survey achieved a 97% response rate. Focus groups and interviews were also utilized. The report includes survey results examining how students first learned about events like the Boston Marathon bombing, technology usage, the number of devices freshmen brought to campus, and shifts in expectations between classes entering in 2009 and 2012, alongside faculty performance assessments.
