  2. What is IRC • A component of the Public Affairs section • IRC role is to promote understanding between Rwanda and the United States offering reading and research facilities. • IRC has a Library and an internet corner

  3. IRC Collection1. Books * Our IRC has a library with about 3000 books in all areas: American history, politics and society, US economy, human rights, global issues like HIV/AIDS, gender, environment, media… (French and English books available) * Educational advising books and catalogues for both graduates and undergraduates.

  4. 2. Periodicals • IRC has subscription to the 45 periodicals (French and English): • Jeune Afrique, Paris Match, Femme Actuelle, the economist, Business Week, New Scientific, Entrepreneur, Amina,….

  5. Internet Corner • 4 computers with free internet access (for research purposes only) • Internet service available Monday-Friday, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM

  6. Online resources • IRC has a new Wiki site • IRC wiki collects and provides electronic resources and tool kits that can be useful for researchers, journalists, students, lectures and all the people seeking US information in many areas. • Power point presentations on different subjects • Visit the IRC wiki at : http://irckigalirw.pbworks.com

  7. IRC services • Research service: IRC Staff assist with research requirements related to US • Lending services: 2 books can be borrowed for 2 weeks • Education advising: Assistance for individual interested in studying in US

  8. Membership • Open to professionals and students • At no cost • Requirements: a professional card or student card can allow you to be registered. • Library hours: Monday- Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM
