The NARA Clinic in Portland implements a thorough screening process for diabetes, incorporating various tools and evaluations. New patients receive the ADA Risk Test at their first appointment, while community events also facilitate screening by DPP staff. Essential vital sign evaluations are conducted for patients aged 10 and older, and further testing includes OGTT, FBG, or A1C measurements. Since 2005, over 3,900 individuals have been pre-screened, with 56% diagnosed with prediabetes or diabetes. DPP physical days streamline the process, allowing for coordinated lab work and enrollment.
