  3. Central America Central America connects North and South America. It is surrounded by three major bodies of water • Pacific Ocean (west) • Gulf of Mexico (north) • Caribbean Sea (east)

  4. South America • South American has 9 Spanish Speaking Countries. • Venezuela • Colombia • Ecuador • Peru • Bolivia • Chile • Argentina • Paraguay • Uruguay

  5. South America • South America is situated entirely in the western hemisphere. • Brazil is NOT a Spanish speaking country even though it is a big part of South America. • One of the longest mountain ranges in the world, Andes, is located in Chile and Argentina.

  6. Famous Geography • Tierra Del Fuego “Land of Fire” is the southern most point in South America. Chile and Argentina share this southern island. Despite the name, the island is very wet with long cold slushy winters.

  7. Famous Geography • Central America sits on the Caribbean plate. • The region is know for being geologically active with several earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. • Nicaragua and El Salvador experience the worst of these. El Salvador Nicaragua
